Nachtljocht Press is an independent literary press publishing fiction and the quarterly journal nachtljocht.
We are interested in writing that lingers: work that is psychologically intimate, emotionally resonant, aesthetically distinctive, or difficult to forget. The strange, the melancholic, the romantic, the spiritual, the horrific, the impossible.
We publish across genres and traditions. A horror story, a historical romance, a surreal novella, and a quiet domestic drama are all taken equally seriously here if they are well-made.
Alongside the writing itself, we care deeply about the physical experience of books: typography, layout, paper, cover design, and rereadability. Books should feel worth keeping.
